The South Central PA region recognizes that 85% of our nation's critical infrastructure is privately owned or operated by business and industry. Therefore, the most effective way to protect our community is to have public safety personnel partner with their private sector peers to detect, prevent and prepare for all disasters.
The Business, Industry & Infrastructure Subcommittee was formed to address this need. The subcommittee is in place to help all businesses, from the family owned corner store to the larger critical infrastruture industries such as those that provide our food, gas, water, electricity, transportation and telecommunication needs.
We can provide this help by sponsoring training and education, situational awareness updates, drills, facility assessments and other initiatives geared at improving the business community disaster preparedness program.
